Is there a dark side to religion?

Gianmarco Maraviglia, Director and founder of Echo Photojournalism, explains in a substantial intervention on video his photographic project on the role of religion in our time. The work stems from the need to show in a different way the religions practiced in Italy, but originating from cultures, which have developed abroad. A work begun, according to the author, with the need to investigate aspects of a spirituality too often not known and condemned in advance with attitudes and behaviour nearing racism. This was however only the beginning of the work, before religion became, for Gianmarco Maraviglia, a kind of crowbar to recount other socio-anthropological stories.
