Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards 2026

The 2026 edition of the Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards, supported and promoted by Nikon, offers a comprehensive range of entry opportunities across several specialised categories. The competition features dedicated sections for Mammals, Birds, Reptiles, Amphibians and Insects, and Fish and Other Aquatic Species. Alongside these traditional genres, the awards place a strong emphasis on the next generation of talent through the Nikon Young Photographer(under 25s) and the Nikon Junior Category (under 16s). The programme is further bolstered by the Portfolio Category, the Nikon Video Category, and the Photo People’s Choice Award, which is determined by public vote.

Prizes and Deadlines

The closing date for entries is 30 June 2026. Finalists are expected to be announced in October, ahead of a gala ceremony in December where the overall winners will be revealed. The prize pool includes Nikon cameras and lenses for the Nikon-sponsored categories. Top entrants also stand a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime safari in the Maasai Mara, Kenya, hosted by Alex Walker’s Serian, accompanied by a bespoke handmade trophy. Additionally, all category winners will receive a camera bag from ThinkTANK and a professionally designed website by Amazing Internet.

The 2026 Jury

The judging panel for the 2026 edition brings together a diverse range of expertise from the worlds of photography, conservation, and entertainment. Joining Cameron Whitnall, Hannah Stitfall, and Roxy Hemadani are Charlotte Kemsley, Nikon’s Regional Director for Northern Europe; TV presenter Kate Humble; actor and comedian Hugh Dennis; and renowned wildlife photographers Daisy Gilardini and Will Burrard-Lucas. The panel is completed by wildlife expert Will Travers OBE and conservationist Bella Lack.

This year also marks the debut participation of Jamie Smart, Will Fortescue, Stuart Goldsmith, and Roma Wells on the judging committee.
