The disputed land of the Guaraní

In Lodi, at the former Church of San Cristoforo – where the images of the Themed Area: Food that kills are exhibited thanks to the contribution of Fujifilm Italy – we met the authors of the exhibition Terra Vermelha, Paulo Siqueira and Nadia Shira Cohen. What has emerged is a profound story that retraces, from the beginning, the often bloody dispute between the rich ranchers of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and the indigenous population of the Guaraní, who today lay claim to the lands that were expropriated for the benefit of the whites who settled there to build their farms. As we have already done with Ed Kashi, we also asked Paulo Siqueira and Nadia Shira Cohen to speak briefly about what they believe is the most significant image of their work.
