On the thread of memory

During the Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops 2015, we had the chance to meet and get to know Mak Remissa, author of Left 3 Days, a work that reconstructs the ferocious occupation of Phnom Penh by the Khmer Rouge through a series of instant pictures that for so long have been kept hidden in his childhood memories. It is a very impressive project, especially for its expression and themes, to which we have dedicated in depth material in our section Portfolio (see below link).
Despite the torrid heath of the day we met, and what appeared to be Mak's attitude towards discretion, the Cambodian photographer has given us a long interview narrating with a little emotion, the origin and development of his work, that it is born and grown on the thread of memory.
