Through the Eyes of the North Europe

From September 18th, 2015 until January 10th, 2016 the Modena Foro Boario will host an exhibition of new acquisitions from North-West Europe. Under the title Contemporary Photography from North-West Europe will be reunited 80 works recently added to the collection of contemporary photography handled by the Fondazione Fotografia and never exhibited before (which will be followed by a second chapter dedicated to the production from South-West Europe). Featuring 18 artists, from Wolfgang Tillmans to Jonny Briggs, the exhibition will show a glimpse of new photography in the area embracing Germany, Great Britain and Skandinavia, which is a lively and stimulating set for contemporary artists.
Core of the exhibition will be an important tribute to Norwegian photographer Tom Sandberg (1953 – 2014), whose works are meant to dialogue with those of other European artists on display. A sort of exhibition in the exhibition, entitled Tom Sandberg. Around Myself, of which we will deal later.
Promoted by Fondazione Fotografia Modena and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena, with the support of UniCredit, the whole exhibit is organized and curated by Filippo Maggia, Director of Fondazione Fotografia Modena, and will be part of the programming of festivalfilosofia2015, which will take place from 18 to 20 September in Modena, Carpi and Sassuolo and will be dedicated to the theme Inheriting. The inauguration is planned for Friday, September 18th, 2015 at 7pm.
