The environmental disaster in Puglia

Living in Puglia, in the province of Brindisi, today means to live in a land that is experiencing a good economic momentum based both on the industrial resources as much as on those of tourism that has so much to offer the region. But it is not like that for everyone unfortunately, as farmers could testify who have their land in the areas around the Federico II plant in Cerano. And that is not enough. Living in the province of Brindisi nowadays also means having had, almost with mathematical certainty, a loved one that has passed away prematurely because of the terrible level of pollution present in this area. Mavi Caracuta is no exception, the curator of the Wastelands project, precisely from a sad personal experience wanted to take part and actively support this project, investigating the situation and the causes. From her words, that is how Wastelands by Karl Mancini came about.
