Visual storytelling with Darcy Padilla

Darcy Padilla will be in Cortona on the occasion of the sixth edition of the Cortona On The Move festival to present a two-day workshop, which will allow participants to both elaborate some key topics related to narration through images, and to receive constructive criticism and accurate feedback on their work.

An American photographer specialised in the field of documentary photography and photojournalism, currently part of the Agence VU’, Darcy Padilla in the course of the two days in Cortona will face a number of themes that are important to the success of a photographic project of the documentary kind, ranging from composition to editing, from arranging in sequence to the relation between text and image. The teacher will also view the photographic production of each individual student, and then offer to each of them advice and helpful hints to better develop their own personal project and, more generally, their expressive language. Each participant can in fact decide whether to submit their portfolio to Padilla, from projects in progress or projects completed during the course itself.

The workshop is scheduled for the 14th and 15th July 2016 (from 10 am to 4 pm with break) with between six to fifteen participants. The initiative falls within the educational programme organised on the occasion of the 2016 edition of Cortona On The Move and realised thanks to the collaboration between Cortona OTM and Leica Akademie.
