Portraits of America

William Albert Allard, son of a Swedish migrant, has helped define America in all its diversity. His work consists in exploring the reclusive communities of the Amish and Hutterites, probing the gritty existence of the American cowboys, or revealing the quiet beauty of the Minnesota lakes. From rodeos to blues singers, from William Faulkner’s Mississippi to minor league baseball, Allard has turned his camera toward parts of our heritage that are often overlooked.
From June to October, Hungry Eyes will host some of the most interesting artistic productions of the recent editions of the International Photography Festival Cortona On The Move, creating an unique photography schedule in Milan (Area 35, via Vigevano, 35) for 5 months. At the end of Portraits of America, will follow: Land Inc. by TerraProject (2 July - 1 September 2015), Overwhelmed by the Atmosphere of Kindness. Podlaskie by Tomasz Tomaszewski (3 - 29 September 2015) and Taking my time by Joel Meyerowitz (1 - 30 October 2015).
