I called out for the mountains, I heard them drumming

Among the works concurring in the YToI 2015 in the Portrait category, FPmag editorial staff has decided to nominate Best Author the Finnish photographer Miia Autio, whose work is dedicated to the Rwandan refugees that escaped to Europe and to the memories they have of their country. Miia Autio writes, «I took pictures of eleven Rwandan refugees in their new environments in different countries and I asked them to describe their personal memories of one place in Rwanda. I then travelled to those places, something that they cannot do. The complex history of Rwanda and the recent human rights situation is reflected in the personal stories of the eleven refugees».
