Bieler Fototage: ready, steady, go!

The modern location of the Photoforum PasquArt in Bienne has opened its rooms to the public in occasion of the launch of the 19th edition of the Journées Photographiques de Bienne/Bieler Fototage, that started on the evening of the 28th of August 2015.
At the end of the introductive speech made by the director Hélène Joye-Cagnard – that stressed the festival’s aim to promote emerging authors from all around the world – the numerous exhibitive rooms were open on the first floor where the big audience composedly turned out. This year there are in fact 22 exhibitions; 14 of them are completely new and 6 are presented for the first time in Switzerland, as stressed by Hélène Joye-Cagnard’s presentation.
LThe first impression on the exhibitions confirms the great feedback of the last 4 editions. Great care and tidiness in the set up with choices that do not aim necessarily to please the eye, but award instead the essence of the projects that have been linked in a coherent and efficient way to the main concept of Adaptation as highlighted by the director in her introductive speech. We will focus on the details of each single exhibition in the following days, at the end of our visits. [ S. I. ]
